Medium scans are our standard. We recommend selecting high scans only if you need larger files for editing or large format printing.
We have two excellent scanning options, the Noritsu HS-1800 and the Fuji SP3000. Details about both listed below!
Noritsu HS-1800: High: 4011x6048
Med: 2048x3072
Great shadow detail, neutral tones.
Black point is more muted and can deviate to greenish on underexposed images.
Skin tones are more neutral.
Colors are softer and lighter.
BW film scans are more neutral and flexible.
Fuji SP3000: High: 4492x6774
Med: 2000x3000
Maintains highlight detail. Slight warmer contrast.
Black point is very rich (there tends to be a bluer black in the black shadow areas)
Skin tones are more golden, warm.
Colors are more vivid, punchy, or saturated.
BW film scans can lose shadow detail
